Following the closure of Interlude Chef Robin Wickens is now weaving his molecular gastronomy magic at this groovy city laneway restaurant. Food and service here is superb and faultless. You can opt for a la carte or the 9 course degustation menu with matched wines. Entree's - try the warm rabbit terrine with hay icecream or the brain over braun - lambs brain caramelised in madeira lightly crumbed served with pickled onion and warm potato salad. Main course leads to more adventures on your dinner plate - winners are the duck breast, confit leg, celeriac, maple, dates and dehydrated bacon and also the mulloway stuffed with scallops, mushroom broth and creamed leeks. The side of broccolini comes with a delicious truffle cream. Pastry chef whiz Pierre Roleofs desserts are deconstructed and visually magnificent - I found the Coffee Savarin with caramelised witlof, chicory and banana to be delightfully confronting.Noise levels can be challengin in the restaurant on a Fri nite but if you want a special night out with a lovely ambience I would opt for a Saturday night.Wine storage is also avaialble here - please check the website for pricing details - they have a great bar area for you to enjoy one of your own bottles.Highly Recommended.
